The Research & Development (R&D) Cell of Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital (SMVMCH) actively promotes and supports research initiatives among experienced faculty members, medical professionals, and aspiring students in diverse fields such as Medical Sciences, Allied Health Sciences, and interdisciplinary domains.

The R&D Cell plays a vital role in strengthening the institution’s research ecosystem by encouraging participation in conferences, seminars, workshops, clinical training programs, and research-based competitions. It continuously monitors and enhances the research capabilities of faculty and students, fostering innovation and academic excellence.

Research Facilities

Central Research Laboratory

Central Research Laboratory (CRL) was started in 2012 to provide centralized research infrastructure for the benefit of investigators across multiple disciplines at Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital (SMVMCH). CRL is located on the first floor of the college building in the Department of Biochemistry.

Simulation Centre

The simulation centre is located in the third floor of college building with total area of 872sq.m.The simulation centre encompasses a wide range of facilities to teach and train both undergraduate and post graduate students. This centre is designed not only to meet the needs of students but also has facilities to conduct live workshops and conferences. The centre can also be used for conducting OSCE exams for students.
